Anyone who has tried to make a children's picture book with ChatGPT knows how it goes. The idea is lovely, the first page is lovely, and then the hero's scarf changes color on page four, an illustration has an extra paw, and there's nowhere on the page to put the words. What started as one cute story turns into a week of fixing.

Little Discovery tries to solve that by giving you the whole book plan up front. Each of its 480 prompts plans a 30-page picture book in which a small animal notices something odd in nature, makes funny wrong guesses, and finally learns the real science behind it. I used Little Discovery to make a complete book before launch to see whether the characters really stay consistent, how accurate the science is, and how much work is left after the prompt.

What Is Little Discovery? How Does It Work Step By Step?

Little Discovery is a library of 480 ready-to-use ChatGPT prompts across 48 nature themes, grouped into autumn, winter, spring, summer, and sky and night. Each theme has ten prompts with different heroes, friends, story formats and endings. One prompt returns a full book plan: title, subtitle, series name, a 150 to 200-word description, seven keyword phrases, a 30-page story script, front and back cover prompts, a picture prompt for every page, a simple science explanation and a closing activity.

The books are for ages 3 to 7. Every hero is an expressive animal in its true colors with one signature detail that never changes, drawn in a warm, textured storybook style. The prompts also plan open space and speech bubbles for the text, so words have somewhere to go.

Here's the workflow as I followed it:

  • ➤ Step 1 — Pick a theme. Open the members' library, choose a season and a theme, and all ten prompts for that theme appear.

  • ➤ Step 2 — Copy a prompt. One click copies the whole prompt.

  • ➤ Step 3 — Paste it into ChatGPT. Send it in a new chat and get the complete book plan back.

  • ➤ Step 4 — Create the pictures. Paste each cover and page prompt into a new chat to generate the illustrations.

  • ➤ Step 5 — Check every page and assemble. Read the words on each picture, redo the ones that went wrong, and lay the pages out in your usual tool for KDP, Etsy or print.

Little Discovery Pricing & Funnel Summary

Little Discovery Front End ($17)

The Nature Edition costs $17, paid once through WarriorPlus, with instant access to the members' library and the spreadsheet. There's a 14-day guarantee, but it only covers genuine technical problems that support can't fix; changing your mind or not having ChatGPT doesn't qualify.

For that price you get all 480 prompts across 48 themes, the members' library, the spreadsheet, the guide, the PLR license and the extra bonuses. You'll need a ChatGPT account that can create images, and a layout tool for the final book.

Is $17 worth it? For anyone publishing children's books, yes. A single picture book plan with a consistent character, a real science hook and 30 page prompts would take me days to write myself, and here there are 480 of them. Even if you only make a dozen books, the cost per book is small. The honest caveats are about the images and the market. ChatGPT's pictures still need checking and regenerating, especially text inside images, and the children's book category on KDP is crowded, so a book still needs good keywords and patience to find readers.

đź’ˇ Value-for-Money Rating: 9.5/10

For KDP publishers, Etsy printable sellers and teachers who want picture books with real structure and real science, the front end is well worth $17.

Why Should You Choose Little Discovery?

My Personal Experience With Little Discovery

I had access about two weeks before launch and picked the "Drying puddles" theme from the Summer set, because it's a question my niece actually asked me last July. The prompt I chose used a detective-case format. ChatGPT named the book "Who Drank the Puddle?", with the subtitle "A Little Discovery Summer Mystery."

The hero was Dot, a small duckling in a yellow rain hat she never takes off, and her friend was Barnaby, an unhurried old snail.

Here's how the 30 pages were planned, grouped by part:

  • Pages 1–4 — The Best Puddle Ever: Dot splashes in her favorite puddle after a summer storm. "Tomorrow," she says, "I'll bring my boat."

  • Pages 5–8 — The Case Opens: the next morning the puddle is smaller. By lunch it's gone. Dot puts on her detective face: "Somebody drank my puddle."

  • Pages 9–14 — Suspect One, the Thirsty Dog: Dot questions a sleepy dog, who is insulted. "I have a bowl," he says.

  • Pages 15–18 — Suspect Two, the Big Round Sun: Dot glares at the sun, which keeps shining as if nothing happened.

  • Pages 19–22 — The Clue: Barnaby shows her tiny wisps rising from a wet stone. "Watch closely," he says. "The water isn't taken. It's traveling."

  • Pages 23–26 — Case Closed: a cloud gathers over the pond, and the next storm refills the puddle. Dot apologizes to the dog.

  • Pages 27–28 — What Really Happened: the science page. "When the sun warms water, tiny bits of it float up into the air as a gas you can't see. This is called evaporation."

  • Pages 29–30 — Try It Yourself: a chalk-outline activity: draw around a puddle, check it every hour, and draw the new outline each time.

The book plan itself needed very little change. I shortened two pages that ran a little long for a read-aloud and swapped one keyword phrase for a more specific one. The science page was accurate and simple enough for a four-year-old. In total, the book took about eight hours across two evenings, most of it on images and layout.

I published it as a KDP paperback and as a printable PDF on Etsy. Over the first 12 days, it sold 28 copies across both, for approximately $72 in royalties and sales. Two of the Etsy buyers were teachers, which tells me the activity page matters. I've already started the second book in the series, about fireflies.

Final Verdict on Little Discovery

Little Discovery gives you something most AI picture-book prompts don't: a real story shape, a character who stays the same, and a true science answer that makes the book worth a parent's or teacher's money. My duckling mystery went from one prompt to a published paperback in two evenings, and the prompt was the easy part. You'll still spend hours checking and redoing pictures and laying out the text. For anyone making children's books for KDP, Etsy or the classroom, I think Little Discovery is worth considering at the $17 launch price. Start with the Nature Edition, and add Nature Edition Plus only once you know you want to build series around the themes.

That's all what I want to share with you about Little Discovery. I hope that my review can give you a helping hand in deciding what is best for you.
